Writer's Block: The Evolution of My Internet

Dec. 5th, 2009 | 08:56 pm

How has the Internet evolved to meet your needs since you started using it?
Wow, I don't even know where to start. I think its more a matter of my needs evolving to fit the internet. It seems like, "Wow, that's cool I need to start doing that" more than, "Wow, I wish I could do such and such on the internet".

Writer's Block: So funny I forgot to laugh

Oct. 23rd, 2009 | 12:36 pm

If a friend cracks a corny joke, do you force yourself to laugh politely? What about if it's your boss or teacher? Do you get annoyed if someone else pretends to be amused?
Most of my friends know when they are telling a corny joke, so you get to say "ha ha" and roll your eyes. If its a boss or a teacher, I admit I pretend to laugh, its just easier.

Bored

Nov. 21st, 2008 | 09:14 pm
mood: blahblah

So tonight (and the whole weekend) I'm by myself and a little bored. And I don't really feel that great either. Hopefully I'll feel better soon, as in tomorrow, so I can ride. I feel just crappy enough that I really don't want to do anything that major (since it involves trailering and a bunch of stuff)
Basically I'm just whining. I really need to get schoolwork finished up so its not like its bad I'm sort of shut up. Tomorrow I am going to get a bunch of stuff done!!! Clean house, ride, schoolwork, all the fun stuff. I write it down mostly so I'm held to it so I don't spend the day playing computer games and being a lazybutt.

Wow, been awhile

Sep. 12th, 2008 | 08:35 am
mood: excitedexcited

Its funny how you get busy all summer and don't have time to get online and do stuff. This is my first day off where I've actually been home in over a month. I'm supposed to be cleaning, my inlaws are coming tonight, but I can't get moving this early. I'm taking a little while to just chill.

Next week I leave on Wednesday to take Comet to a clinic in Corvallis with Ricky Quinn, Jr. He mentored with Buck Brannaman and I've watched his clinics before and was really impressed. I'm so excited, its going to be such a learning experience. I'm riding today, I haven't been on them in a month or more, in the hopes that he won't be a complete ass. Wish me luck, and I'll update with how it went when I get back.

First Entry-Craziness at work

Mar. 5th, 2008 | 08:52 am
mood: happyhappy

This is exciting, my first entry!!!

I work as a veterinary assistant at a mixed practice (which means we do small and large animals, anything that walks through the door). We are the only vet clinic in the county (its a very small area). Anyway, work is always interesting and there is always a variety of things going on, but the past two days have been insane!
Monday morning I got there and the kennel assistant, who takes care of the boarder animals and makes sure everything is clean, hadn't been in (big mix-up as it turns out) so I had to start all of that. Then we get an emergency C-section on a cow, so I helped the vet with that. It was really cool, the calf was alive and things went fairly well. The downside was, it was 8:00 am, opening time, and everything was still a disaster, with a really messy cow room thrown in. We did get a kennel assistant to come in, so that helped a bunch. Later that day I was doing a body clip on a cat and I accidentally cut it. It was so awful...I felt horrible, I've done tons of clips and never cut one before. It wasn't really bad, but she needed stitches and then I had to tell the owner. Thankfully, she was SO nice about it. I think she could tell I felt rotten about it, and it wasn't something that normally happened.

Then yesterday was SO busy! I didn't stop all day. We had to pull a calf out of the meanest cow ever. It took us an hour to get it into the chutes because you couldn't just herd her and close gates behind her. She was charging us and hitting the fence and you couldn't get in with her at all or she'd have killed you. Basically it felt like I did cows all day long, we had some bulls in for various tests, then another cow with a vaginal prolapse. There were a few spays and neuters and horse dentals in between. We took an x-ray of a collie dog and discovered 75 cents in her stomach. She had an enlarged heart, and that was what we were looking at, the quarters were a random find. It never fails to amaze me what dogs will eat.

So those are my recent adventures at work. I'm off today...YAY! I can rest up, hopefully work my horses, and get some stuff done. I leave tomorrow for a continuing education conference, so there is a bunch to do.
